Over thirty papers, dozens of speakers, hundreds of expert discussions, and three days filled with knowledge, technology, and inspiration. Wisła hosted the participants of the 34th Scientific and Technical Conference “Problems of Operation of Electric Machines and Drives” – PEMINE, one of the most important industry events dedicated to electric machines, drives, energy, and electromobility.
On 17-19 June 2026, Wisła became a meeting place for the scientific and industrial communities during the 34th Scientific and Technical Conference “Problems of Operation of Electric Machines and Drives” – PEMINE.
This year’s edition brought together dozens of speakers presenting the latest achievements in the fields of renewable energy sources, diagnostics and operation of equipment, design of electric machines, power electronics, and modern solutions for transport and industry.
The conference was opened by Stanisław Gawron, DEng, Director of the Centre for Electric Drives and Machines at Łukasiewicz – GIT, who presented the key activities and development directions of the Centre.
Particular interest was drawn to presentations on renewable energy technologies, energy storage, electromobility, advanced diagnostic methods, and new designs of electric motors and drive systems. An important part of the programme was also the poster session, during which numerous research and development works were presented, enabling direct exchange of knowledge and experience.
The conference programme covered topics related to renewable energy sources, diagnostics and operation of equipment, design of electric machines, power electronics, and modern solutions for transport and industry.
PEMINE has long been distinguished not only by its high scientific level, but also by its unique atmosphere fostering dialogue and relationship building. The lively discussions following the presentations demonstrated how essential continuous cooperation between science and industry is. A particularly important role in these discussions was played by Tadeusz Glinka, BEng, PhD, DSc, ProfTit, a doyen of Polish electrical engineering, whose insightful questions and valuable remarks encouraged speakers to deepen their analysis of the presented research results. His activity was not only an expression of scientific passion but also a significant contribution to maintaining the high academic standard of the event.
An important element of the programme was also the poster session, during which several dozen research works were presented, including topics such as diagnostics of electric machines, new motor designs, cooling methods, electromobility, power electronics, and operational safety of equipment. It provided an excellent opportunity for direct discussions between authors and conference participants.
PEMINE 2026 Diagnostic Seminar – Modern diagnostic technologies for electric machines in industrial practice.
On the second day of the PEMINE Conference, 18 June 2026, a seminar was held dedicated to the activities of the Laboratory of Electric Drives and Machines and to practical aspects of modern diagnostics of electric machines.
The meeting was aimed at industry representatives, engineers, and specialists involved in the operation, diagnostics, and maintenance of electric machines.
During the seminar, it was demonstrated that the Laboratory’s activities go beyond classical research services, also encompassing advanced diagnostic solutions implemented directly in industrial conditions, addressing real operational needs.
Participants had the opportunity to learn about modern diagnostic solutions, including:
- a technology enabling measurement of the actual torque on the shaft of electric machines,
- the first portable device for measuring voltage recovery of machines supplied from a 6 kV grid,
- a laser-based geometry measurement system enabling, among others, commutator profile measurements,
- a diagnostic platform for mapping magnetic field distribution.
The seminar provided a unique opportunity to explore practical diagnostic solutions combining laboratory precision with the requirements of the industrial environment.
The seminar was prepared by: Marcin Barański, DEng; Adam Decner, DEng; and Tomasz Jarek, BEng, MSc.
The final technical session of the conference took place on 19 June 2026, summarizing all previous presentations and discussions. It provided an opportunity for the exchange of final reflections and for highlighting the key conclusions arising from the presented papers and expert debates.
This was followed by the official closing of the PEMINE 2026 Conference, during which its high scientific and technical level as well as the importance of integrating the scientific and engineering community were emphasized.
The conference was formally closed by Marcin Barański, DEng, who summarized the event and announced the date of the next edition of the conference from 19 to 21 May 2027 , thereby initiating anticipation for next year’s meeting.
