During WELD TECH 2026, Łukasiewicz – GIT presented its research expertise, technologies and services supporting the development of modern industry. At booth E12, visitors could explore advanced welding solutions, the proprietary SW07 system for vibration stabilization of metal structures, and samples of welded joints. An important part of the Institute’s presence was also a seminar dedicated to modern welding technologies and materials testing.
This year’s WELD TECH 2026 provided an opportunity to showcase the broad range of Łukasiewicz – GIT’s expertise in welding, materials testing and technological solutions for industry.
At booth E12, visitors could learn more about the Institute’s research and technology services, as well as selected solutions developed by Łukasiewicz – GIT experts. The presentation included advanced welding technologies, the proprietary SW07 system for vibration stabilization of metal structures, and samples of welded joints, demonstrating the Institute’s capabilities in research and the assessment of joint quality.
An important part of Łukasiewicz – GIT’s presence was the seminar “From Simulation to Practice: Modern Welding Technologies and Materials Testing”. The programme covered topics ranging from welding process optimization to advanced joining technologies and materials testing methods.
Kamil Kubik, BEng, MSc, and Janusz Pikuła, DEng, presented the use of FEM analysis for welding process optimization. Paweł Pogorzelski, BEng, MSc, discussed electron beam welding technology in industrial applications, while Mateusz Radoń, BEng, MSc, presented the potential of a fibre laser with two co-directional beams for industrial applications.
The next presentation, delivered by Adam Termin, BEng, MSc, focused on the efficiency of mechanized PHW hybrid welding compared with mechanized MAG welding. Marcin Zurek, BEng, MSc, discussed selected standards and regulations concerning hard and soft brazing, while Iryna Balabanska, DEng,presented fracture mechanics and material resistance to fracture, including CTOD testing of structural materials.
The seminar highlighted the broad scope of Łukasiewicz – GIT’s research activities — from process simulation and optimization, through advanced joining technologies, to the testing of material properties and durability. What connected all these topics was their practical relevance to the development and improvement of industrial processes.
Participation in WELD TECH 2026 also provided an opportunity to meet representatives of industry, exchange experience and discuss potential cooperation with Łukasiewicz – GIT. Direct dialogue with industry helps identify technological needs and jointly develop solutions tailored to specific challenges.
