Modern technical education requires modern tools. Łukasiewicz – GIT has designed, manufactured, and commissioned a specialized educational test stand for testing a permanent magnet synchronous generator for the Mechanical and Electrical Schools Complex in Rybnik. The project demonstrates the Institute’s engineering expertise and its commitment to supporting the education of future professionals by delivering practical solutions that bridge science, industry, and technical education.
Łukasiewicz Research Network – Upper Silesian Institute of Technology (Łukasiewicz – GIT) has developed, manufactured, and delivered a specialized educational test stand for testing a permanent magnet synchronous generator to the Mechanical and Electrical Schools Complex in Rybnik. This modern educational tool supports the training of future specialists in electrical engineering, automation, and power engineering by enabling the acquisition of practical skills related to the operation and testing of electrical machines.
The test stand was designed as a comprehensive system that enables a wide range of educational exercises and experiments related to the operation of permanent magnet synchronous generators. It allows users to independently perform measurements, analyze machine operating characteristics, and observe the relationship between load conditions and the electrical energy generated.
The stand consists of:
- an electromechanical set comprising an induction motor and a permanent magnet generator,
- a control cabinet equipped with a frequency inverter as well as control, measurement, and protection systems,
- a set of load resistors enabling adjustment of the generator operating conditions.
The project is an example of the successful integration of scientific knowledge, engineering expertise, and the needs of modern technical education. Through such solutions, students can gain practical competencies that are essential in the fields of power engineering, industrial automation, and renewable energy sources. The design, manufacturing, and commissioning of the workstation were carried out by the Laboratory of Drives and Electrical Machines of Łukasiewicz – GIT.
It is worth noting that the Center for Drives and Electrical Machines of Łukasiewicz – GIT specializes in the design and development of modern research and educational test stands intended for the testing, analysis, and demonstration of electrical machines and drive systems. Thanks to extensive experience and advanced technical facilities, we deliver solutions tailored to individual customer requirements – from educational workstations and demonstration systems to sophisticated research platforms. We design and build test rigs for a wide range of electrical drives and machines, providing complete flexibility of configuration, comprehensive technical support, and solutions that address the current challenges of industry, power engineering, and technical education.
