At the Łukasiewicz – Upper Silesian Institute of Technology, a meeting was held in an open-dialogue format involving representatives of government, science, business, and public institutions as part of the Science–Economy Dialogue initiative “Ślōnsko Godka.” The event took place on May 5 in Gliwice and was organized in a roundtable format, conducive to open, partnership-based, and substantive discussion.

The aim of the initiative was to integrate the scientific community with representatives of business, business support institutions, and public administration. Cooperation between these sectors forms the foundation for the continued dynamic development of Upper Silesia as a region of innovation and modern industry.

The event was attended by Professor Marek Gzik – Deputy Minister of Science at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, who highlighted the importance of cross-sector dialogue : “Silesia has always known that dialogue between science, industry, and local government is not an option – it is a necessity. I am pleased that the Łukasiewicz Network is providing space for this today. Here in Gliwice, at the roundtable, we are building something more important than documents – we are building trust. Polish science has potential that still does not translate sufficiently into the strength of our economy. Meetings like this are exactly the mechanism I want to strengthen as a deputy minister. Silesia can be a model for the whole of Poland.” The host of the event, Professor Adam Zieliński – Director of the Łukasiewicz – GIT Institute, emphasized the role of research institutes as platforms for cooperation: “We are creating a space where different perspectives – scientific, business, and administrative – can meet and have a real impact on regional development. Dialogue is not an end in itself – it is a tool for building concrete solutions for industry and the economy.”
