Objective:
Łukasiewicz Research Network – Tele and Radio Research Institute has been providing the market with innovative devices for testing the parameters of solid fuels and metallurgical raw materials for many years. These devices have found many recipients at home and abroad. Despite numerous advantages, such as reliability, quality of workmanship or accuracy of measurement, some solutions, both in terms of appearance and technical solutions, have become obsolete.
The project aims to develop a new, coherent line of devices characterised by modern design and construction solutions. The issue of the appearance of the station is extremely important when presenting the devices to potentially new customers, e.g. at international fairs, where it is often possible to directly compare our products with those of our competitors (Carbolite, Leco, Automazione). The work will be conducted based on the following devices:
- Stations for determining the reactivity of CRI/CSR blast furnace coke, which is offered by Łukasiewicz-ITR. Despite the unflagging demand, it is necessary to develop a new version of the station due to the growing problems with access to the components used and the appearance deviating from today’s design. The current device presents typical construction solutions for the period in which it was created (1990s) – the components controlling individual parameters work in a distributed system, controlled by a PC equipped with dedicated software. This software does not allow to make modifications, which is a significant disadvantage for some foreign customers. This station has dimensions of approximately 1.8 x 1.0 x 2.5 m (width, depth, height).
- A prototype of a device for determining the reducibility of iron ores, according to ISO 4695, ISO 7216, and in the future – ISO 4696-1 and 4696-2. The device will be subjected to tests confirming the correctness of the adopted construction assumptions and the operation of the station by Łukasiewicz Research Network – Upper Silesian Institute of Technology.
The project will also estimate the service life of consumables and operating costs of the station, determine the necessary structural changes to improve the comfort of use and streamline the station. The appearance of the station will be adapted to the design developed for the CRI/CSR station.
