International scientific partnerships pave the way for new technologies and innovative projects. With this objective in mind, representatives of the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iași visited the Łukasiewicz – GIT Welding Centre to discuss opportunities for research collaboration and joint participation in European research and innovation initiatives.
The Welding Centre of the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Upper Silesian Institute of Technology had the pleasure of hosting distinguished guests from Romania – Professor Dumitru Nedelcu and Dr. Ciprian Ciofu from the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași.
The visit provided an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences, present research potential, and discuss future scientific and research cooperation. The guests were welcomed by Aleksander Lisiecki, DSc, PhD, Professor of Silesian University of Technology, Deputy Director of the Welding Centre, together with research group leaders: Jolanta Mastusiak, PhD Eng., Head of the Research Group for Welding and Adhesive Bonding Technologies and Environmental Protection, and Wojciech Oborski, MSc Eng., Head of the Research Group for Industrial Electronics.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the key research areas of both institutions and explored opportunities for developing international cooperation, particularly in the field of joint European research and innovation projects.
An important part of the visit was the presentation of the Welding Centre’s modern research infrastructure. The guests toured the laboratory of welding and adhesive bonding technologies, where they had the opportunity to learn more about ongoing research activities and advanced technological facilities. The scope of the laboratory’s work and research capabilities was presented by Aleksandra Węglowska, PhD Eng.
The meeting marked another step toward strengthening international scientific relations and reinforcing the position of Łukasiewicz – GIT as a trusted partner in innovative European research projects.
