research institutes
in Upper Silesia

Łukasiewicz – Upper Silesian Institute of Technology is part of the third largest research network in Europe and the largest research network in Poland. The main goal of our network is to increase the transfer of innovative technologies to the Polish economy.
Łukasiewicz is also the implementation of Polish aspirations to cooperate with European and global leaders in the field of research and development, improving the chances of the Polish economy for rapid growth based on innovative technologies created with passion by Polish scientists.
Łukasiewicz – Upper Silesian Institute of Technology provides scientific and research, advisory, and training services to steel producers, users of steel products and institutions related to the iron and steel industry.
Łukasiewicz – GIT conducts advanced research in the field of intelligent mobility, in the scope of aerospace and incremental technologies (3D printing). Particular attention is paid to hydrogen technologies, including research on the use of hydrogen in metallurgical processes. We expand our research capabilities for the energy industry by implementing non-destructive testing (NDT). We develop knowledge in the field of welding and supporting the domestic industry by providing the highest quality services in the field of joining metals and thermoplastics as well as thermal cutting and related methods in order to ensure high quality and competitiveness of welded products at home and on foreign markets. We develop new and advance and modernise existing methods of designing, constructing and testing of electrical machines. The results of these works are used in the design and construction of new series and variants of machines with the highest technical and operational parameters matching, and often exceeding, the parameters of leading European and global companies.
