Emil Król, DEng. an employee of the Centre for Drives and Electrical Machines at the Łukasiewicz – Upper Silesian Institute of Technology, successfully defended his doctoral dissertation with distinction, entitled “Reduction of Traction Motor Noise.” The defense took place at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology.
The doctoral research was carried out between 2020 and 2025 as part of the 4th edition of the “Implementation Doctorate” program, within the field of engineering and technical sciences, in the discipline of Automation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Space Technologies. The dissertation received very high evaluations, and its results were recognized as a significant and valuable contribution to the development of national electromobility, particularly in the context of reducing noise generated by traction motors.
The dissertation supervisor was Marcin Maciążek, BEng, PhD, DSc, Professor at the Silesian University of Technology, while the auxiliary supervisor from Łukasiewicz – GIT was Robert Rossa, DEng. The thesis was reviewed by Marian Łukaniszyn, BEng, PhD, DSc, ProfTit of the Opole University of Technology, Jan Zawilak, BEng, PhD, DSc, Professor at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, and Rafał M. Wojciechowski, BEng, PhD, DSc, Professor at the Poznań University of Technology.
