At the ICMCTF 2025 conference (International Conference on Metallurgical Coatings and Thin Films) in San Diego (USA), Łukasiewicz – GIT was represented by Radosław Swadźba, PhD, DSc, who presented research results on modern protective coatings and thin films.
During his presentation, he discussed nanolaminate coatings based on MAX phases, developed for TiAl alloys – materials of strategic importance to the aerospace industry. The research is being carried out as part of the HANACOAT, fproject, funded by the National Science Centre (NCN) under the WEAVE-UNISONO program, in collaboration with:
- Silesian University of Technology
- German Aerospace Center (DLR)
- RWTH Aachen
A scientific poster on the resistance of protective coatings on nickel superalloys under high-temperature oxidation conditions (1200°C) was presented simultaneously – part of the TBC4H2, fproject, funded by the National Science Centre (NCBiR) under M-Era.NET, carried out with the participation of:
- Silesian University of Technology
- Avio Polska
- Fraunhofer IWS
- MINES ParisTech
- German Aerospace Center (DLR)
Participation in the conference was not only an honor for our Institute, but also a confirmation of the strong position of Łukasiewicz-GIT in the international community. materials research and surface engineering.
