Objective:
As part of the project, a resistance welding machine was developed with a new solution in the form of a servomechanical (electromechanical) electrode pressing system. The novelty of the solution is an ingenious control method, innovative on a national and European scale, which has changed current views on the course of the welding process and significantly affects the development of the scientific discipline (resistance welding).
The main advantages of the proposed solution in relation to the conventional clamping system, which is a pneumatic system, are:
- practical – greater repeatability of the clamping force, noise reduction, aesthetic appearance of the weld,
- economical – lower weight and dimensions of the servo motor, no need to use a compressed air system, increased durability of electrodes,
- technological – a wider range of welding parameters, a more favourable course of the clamping force, better welding quality, higher electrode displacement rate, various operating modes of clamping force control and/or electrode displacement.
In terms of the subject of the project, 3 patent applications were submitted with numbers P.401723, P.412614 and P.412615.
