Licensed welding examiners holding a Łukasiewicz – GIT license continually upgrade their skills in the latest technologies. For this purpose, we organized a seminar focused on training and certifying welders in manual laser welding, based on the Łukasiewicz – GIT training guidelines.
This rapidly evolving field requires constant monitoring of the latest guidelines, regulations, and documents. The Welding Centre is available to accredited training centers to present both the advantages of this technology and the formal requirements related to its industrial application.
The seminar included lectures on topics such as personnel qualification rules, the construction and operation of manual laser welding equipment, and occupational health and safety regulations applicable to laser welding. The theoretical knowledge was complemented by case studies illustrating manual laser welding in modern industrial facilities, as well as demonstrations of this technology in the state-of-the-art Łukasiewicz – GIT Welding Centre laboratory.
The seminar was opened by Michał Urbańczyk, DEng. Head of the Welding Technologies Research Group and responsible for the seminar’s substantive program. He emphasized that manual laser welding is a revolutionary solution for industry in terms of efficiency and application potential. At the same time, he highlighted that it requires appropriate qualifications, certifications, and strict safety standards.
Professor Jacek Słania, Director of the Welding Centre at Łukasiewicz – GIT, pointed out the rapid pace of development in this technology – just five years ago, no one anticipated its such widespread adoption. He also stressed the growing market demand for training and certifying welders in this technology, increasingly voiced by industry representatives.
Presentations were delivered by both Łukasiewicz – GIT specialists and representatives of leading companies that manufacture and apply manual laser welding equipment in industrial practice, including IPG Photonics, Messer Polska, and Wiśniowski sp. z o.o.
