Objective:
The result of the project was innovative additional materials for welding in the form of powder with ultra-fine particles, containing appropriate proportions of oxide, carbide, and boron phases. The high-performance and high-energy surfacing technologies developed as part of the planned research, together with innovative additional materials, made it possible to produce coatings with several times higher wear resistance under friction conditions. Such coatings could be used primarily for earthworks (agriculture, mining industry).
The results of the project are consistent with the directions of the Łukasiewicz Research Network (sustainable economy and energy – sustainable agriculture and energy security). The results of the project are also important for the implementation of the objectives of the Łukasiewicz Research Network, in particular those from the client’s perspective. Modern materials and technologies for applying abrasion-resistant coatings in metal-mineral conditions have been in demand for many years among leading companies from the mining, energy, and agricultural industries, as an important aspect of operating in these areas is to significantly increase the durability of components of key production components.
