From 13-15 October 2025, the town of Wisła hosted the 8th edition of the International Adhesive Bonding Seminar under the theme “Adhesive Bonding in Industrial Applications”, organized by Łukasiewicz – Upper Silesian Institute of Technology. As in previous years, the event brought together representatives of science, industry, and technology experts from Poland and abroad, creating a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of modern adhesive bonding technologies.
BRIDGING SCIENCE AND INDUSTRY

Opening and Purpose of the Event
The seminar was officially opened by Assoc. Prof. Eng. Zygmunt Mikno and Dr. Eng. Jolanta Matusiak, who emphasized the importance of adhesive bonding as one of the key technologies supporting the development of modern and sustainable manufacturing processes.
The goal of the event was to facilitate the exchange of experiences between researchers and industry representatives, to present the latest scientific achievements, and to showcase practical implementations of adhesive bonding technologies across various industrial sectors.

Speakers and Topics
Among the speakers were experts from renowned research centers and industrial companies.
The special guest of the seminar was Dr. Erik Meiss from the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials (IFAM), Bremen, who delivered a presentation entitled “Adhesive Bonding Above and Underwater: Research on New Applications in the Maritime Industry.”

Beata Rams from the Łukasiewicz – Upper Silesian Institute of Technology, Welding Center also presented the results of her research in a paper entitled “Analysis of Aging Tests Results of Adhesive Joints Made on Aluminum Alloys Using Epoxy Adhesives.”
The program also featured presentations from external company representatives, who shared their experiences and insights on the practical implementation of adhesive bonding technologies in the automotive, railway, and construction industries.

Exchange of Experience and Inspiration
Participants had the opportunity to attend numerous presentations, engage in panel discussions, and establish professional contacts that foster future research and industrial collaboration. The seminar confirmed that adhesive bonding is a technology of the future—combining engineering precision, material innovation, and the evolving needs of modern industry.
