On 15 January 2026, the 17th Stainless Steel Forum took place in the unique setting of the Museum of Metallurgy in Chorzów. The event, organized by Focus Nierdzewne magazine, is one of the most important industry meetings in Poland.
The Forum was opened by Jerzy Niagaj, DEng, who delivered a presentation entitled “Searching for New Welding Solutions in the Stainless Steel Industry”. In his talk, he highlighted, among other issues, the increasing quality requirements in welding processes and the need for continuous technological development and innovation.
The event brought together representatives of science and industry, as well as experts from leading companies and institutions, including KGHM, Gdańsk University of Technology, and the Polish Stainless Steel Association. Łukasiewicz – GIT was represented by Tymoteusz Jung, DEng and Adam Reichel, MSc.
The 17th Stainless Steel Forum was not only an opportunity to explore current trends and challenges facing the stainless steel industry, but also a platform for substantive discussions, exchange of experience, and networking. Participants also had the opportunity to visit the Museum of Metallurgy in Chorzów, which provided an engaging complement to the event program.
