Researchers from the \u0141ukasiewicz Research Network \u2013 Upper Silesian Institute of Technology actively participated in the International Conference on Metallurgical Coatings and Thin Films (ICMCTF 2026)<\/strong> in San Diego \u2013 one of the world\u2019s most prestigious events dedicated to surface engineering, thin-film coatings, and advanced materials technologies<\/strong>.<\/p>

During this year\u2019s edition of the conference Adam Zieli\u0144ski, BEng, PhD, DSc, ProfTit and Rados\u0142aw Swad\u017aba, PhD, DSc, presented their research results, contributing to key global developments in high-temperature materials and protective coating technologies.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Professor Adam Zieli\u0144ski, Director of \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 Upper Silesian Institute of Technology (\u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 GIT), presented the results of advanced material research \u2013 entitled <\/strong>\u201cThe Influence of Long-Term Aging in Air Atmosphere on the Precipitation Process of Inconel 740H Alloy\u201d.<\/strong> The presented research results concerned the mechanisms of microstructural stability in nickel-based alloys designed for operation under extreme high-temperature conditions, representing an important contribution to the understanding of material durability in energy and high-temperature industrial applications.<\/p>

Meanwhile Rados\u0142aw Swad\u017aba, PhD, DSc, delivered an invited talk, <\/strong>presenting at the special invitation of the conference organizers. His lecture, titled \u201cMicrostructure and Oxidation of PVD Coatings on TiAl and Ni Superalloys for High-Temperature Applications\u201d <\/strong> , addressed the advanced PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coatings applied to titanium aluminides and nickel-based superalloys designed for low- and high-pressure turbines in jet engines.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Participation of the \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 GIT team in ICMCTF 2026 was not only an opportunity to present research findings on an international stage, but also a key step in strengthening the Institute\u2019s position within the global scientific community.
