research on lightweight electric drive solutions with a high, above-average power density coefficient, dedicated in particular to the aviation, water, and automotive industries.<\/strong><\/p><p>The current requirements that innovative applications, including mainly aviation, set in the field of electric drives, particularly concern the reduction of their weight, while maintaining appropriate operating parameters. This is not an easy task and currently many companies in the world are looking for new, better constructions that allow their effective use. <\/p><p>The project assumes the development of prototype solutions characterised by TRL VII, for which the power density coefficient is a key parameter, but not the only one. In addition, the appropriate maximum torque values and speed adjustment range will be absolutely important for the drive, all while maintaining high energy efficiency. <\/p><p><strong>The project provides for the development of 3 types of drives:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>with permanent magnets,<\/li><li>induction drive,<\/li><li>and reluctance drive.<\/li><\/ul><p>The highest power density is characterised by motors with magnets, but in overall terms it is impossible to clearly state which of the solutions differing in the principle of operation is the best, because it depends in detail on the specificity of a given application. Induction and reluctance motors, despite slightly worse operating parameters, also have a number of advantages, all the more so taking into account the drastically rising prices of permanent magnets.
